The Pupil Saveetha Eco School signs the Memorandum of Understanding on the Danny Faure Foundation Ocean Chapter
The Pupil Saveetha Eco School, based in Chennai, India, signed the Memorandum of Understanding on the Danny Faure Foundation Ocean Chapter on April 10th 2023.
The MoU was signed between the Executive Director of the DFF, Ms. Lorraine Faure, and the Founder President & Chancellor of Saveetha University and Managing Trustee of the Pupil Saveetha Eco School, Dr. N.M. Veeraiyan. The signing was held virtually during the School’s Annual Production ‘Rhythms of the World’.
The DFF launched the Ocean Chapter under its umbrella initiative entitled the ‘DFF International Chapters’, on 26th January 2023. The Pupil Saveetha Eco School is the second educational institution, internationally, to sign the memorandum after the Ministry of Education of Cabo Verde.
The Ocean Chapter provides a platform where schools and educational institutions, local and abroad, can establish networks amongst themselves with the goal to further sensitise the children and youth on the importance of a healthy and sustainable ocean and to empower their ocean champions. The Chapter caters for the exchange and sharing of experiences, capacity building initiatives, educational programmes and activities related to ocean protection and preservation.
