Former President Danny Faure and The Ocean Race meet with the President of the 76th session of the United Nations General Assembly
Former President Danny Faure, the Founder and Chairman of the Foundation, along with Mr. Richard Brisius, Chairman of The Ocean Race, and Mr. Johan Strid, Director of The Ocean Race, met with the President of the 76th session of the United Nations General Assembly, H.E. Mr. Abdulla Shahid, in the margins of the 2022 UN Ocean Conference.
Discussions were centred on the mission and goals of The Ocean Race in its pursuit to ultimately achieve a Universal Declaration of Ocean Rights.
Also present at the meeting were Mr. Fernando Marani, Deputy Chef de Cabinet, Mr. Tiago Siscar, Legal Adviser, Mr. Benny Teuea, Media Adviser, Mr. Alain de Commarmond (DFF Board Member) and Lorraine Faure (DFF Executive Director).
The Danny Faure Foundation partnered with The Ocean Race for the holding of The Ocean Race Summits Seychelles, hosted by the Seychelles Government, on 21st March 2022. The Summit is part of a series of 12 summits that is being held across the world. The ultimate goal of The Ocean Race is the achievement of a Universal Declaration of Ocean Rights.
